Hello all.

I have encountered an issue where in a collection object entry the name of the container the object is housed in is showing a “container #x” instead of our assigned name of the container. Instead to see the containers name I have to click the pop out to see its name. I have attached some screenshots to show this in more detail.

I am newer to specify so it is possible it is an issue on my end/ config but I have been troubleshooting this for some time and am stumped.

Thank you for any help.

Hi @Julian ,

Thanks for your question!

Once a container is added to the Collection Object, that Storage Location query combo box field will reflect the table format for the Containers table set up in the Record Formatters app resource at the relevant discipline (i.e., Entomology) or collection (i.e., California All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory) level.

In your case, there is not a Record Formatters file at the relevant level for the field to look to, so it simply defaults to the record ID, i.e., #20.

See the [Editing Table Formats and Aggregations](https://speciforum.org/t/editing-table-formats-and-aggregations/1558) guide to learn how to add that app resource and define a Containers format based on the Name field.

Let me know if you’d like further assistance with defining the format!
