Hello, new user, or more accurately, aspiring user. Am I correct in my reading that as of April, 2025, to use Specify 7 one must start by installing Specify 6, because the Setup Wizard that creates the database is meant to work for 6? ---

Good morning @VHough, Yes, you are correct, as of April 2025, Specify 6 would still be required to setup a self-hosted Specify 7 instance due to the creation of the database. There is progress to decouple this requirement that began in 7.10 and will continue into 7.11 (see [Automatic DB user creation for new Specify 7 instances by acwhite211 · Pull Request #6389 · specify/specify7 · GitHub](https://github.com/specify/specify7/pull/6389)). ---
