Hello! I was curious there is a way to auto populate the end date field if the start date is the same? Very few of our samples have more than one date to record and it would be very helpful if there were a function which would allow us to copy over one date into the other field without having to manually retype it. Thank you!

Hi @Felixaad,

Thanks for reaching out! It is not possible at the moment to have a field depend ont he value of another field. Dates can be set to relative dates (e.g. `today` or `today + 2 weeks`), but not to the value of another field (like start date).

Would you like us to open a new feature request for this?

@Grant I think this is something that would be solved by the broader ask for calculated fields. But this specific functionality itself would be very useful to our collections at OSU, so please consider us a +1!

Hello @Felixaad and @nfshoobs ,

Thank you both for the feedback! I have gone ahead and created a feature request for this on the Specify GitHub. Here is the link for the same: [Auto-Populate End Date from Start Date · Issue #8044 · specify/specify7 · GitHub](https://github.com/specify/specify7/issues/8044)

Let us know if you have any questions!
